November 16: Diversity & Equity in Yoga - Advanced Immersion Series
Description
ADVANCED IMMERSION SERIES – Designed for curious practitioners and diligent teachers
The Advanced Immersion Series is a program designed to satiate your curiosity and expand your understanding of yoga on your terms and your schedule. Evolved from the Advanced Teacher Training, this remodeled immersion structure presents themes one weekend at a time. You can choose your areas of interest from a wide range of topics.
DIVERSITY & EQUITY IN YOGA – 16 & 17 NOVEMBER
This weekend will take a bold look at the ways that privilege and marginalization show up in our yoga studios, practice, and culture. We will focus first on understanding our own identities within the social/cultural/economic web and how we can show up for one another in our relationships so that the unlearning and learning process related to social justice, equity, and diversity can happen.

Capacit
From December 1 to 14, 2024
Hacienda Kankabal, Yucatan, Mexico.
AcroYoga Montreal will arrive in Mexico in December 2024 to offer its Level 1 teacher training.
This 14-day TT (100 hours) introduces us to fundamental to advanced techniques to cultivate your technical, creative, and interpersonal skills as a practitioner, teacher, and community leader.
This will be the THIRD TIME the Teacher Training will be offered in Mexico.
You will be inside the Mayan jungle in a beautiful hacienda, with beautiful gardens, a large pool and an incredible cenote, eating healthy and local, sharing with beautiful people from all over the world.
You will be immersed in acroyoga technique and flow, movement exploration, handstands, yoga, teaching methodology, teaching assignments, public teaching, creative process, games and restorative practices over the course of both trainings. Workshops will cover safety, spotting, sequencing, classroom management, anatomy and injury prevention, communication, consent and safe spaces, business and ethics of acroyoga and introduction to social justice. In addition, we will take time to unpack the implications of the pandemic and public health for the acroyoga practice. We aim to create a joyous, engaged space for connection, shared touch and meaningful discussion. Your emotional and physical safety are paramount.
This Teacher Training program has a rich history and is in constant evolution. Founded by Eugene Poku and Jessica Goldberg in 1999, Acroyoga Montreal connects human beings through the transformative power of collective movement and play. The Level 1 Acroyoga Montreal Teacher Training are Continuing Education certified via Yoga Alliance. Find more information about Acroyoga Montreal HEREÂ https://ac
The Level 1 Teacher Training can be described as a crucible in which the physical, social and spiritual intersect, forging a solid foundation as a practitioner, teacher and community member. In this training you will strengthen your yoga practice, personal fitness and observational skills, and learn to implement these in your acroyoga teaching. You will gain tools to guide accessible and engaging introductory classes, workshops, and beginner series in acroyoga, in a way that keeps students coming back for more! Level 1 teaches us that the key to an advanced practice is the ability to return to the fundamentals. For this reason many certified teachers keep returning to Level 1 to refresh themselves while enjoying the strong emphasis on physical fitness.
